AVIRIS DATA FACILITY
About the pub directory
Welcome to the Anonymous File Transfer Protocol (anonymous FTP) site of
the JPL Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer Data Facility
(AVIRIS DF or ADF).
If you are using the World Wide Web, you can access the README.htm
files in the various directories instead of the README files.
This site provides several services for AVIRIS investigators and other
interested parties. The directories and their purposes are as follows:
-
92qlook,
93qlook,
94qlook,
95qlook,
96qlook: Read access to AVIRIS quicklook images.
One directory for each flight season. See the top level
README.htm file for ordering information. Each directory
contains an INDEX file to ease selection.
If you have NCSA Mosaic and xv, then you can set up your browser so
you can
view the online quicklooks as if they were GIF files.
Instructions for browser setup are
here.
-
cal_files_92,
cal_files_93,
cal_files_94,
cal_files_95: Read access to AVIRIS calibration files for
each flight season, one directory per season.
-
docs: Documentation for the other directories. Each file
in this directory is duplicated in the directory where it applies.
-
docs/html: Like the
docs directory, but
containing HTML files.
-
incoming: Where ftp-ers can temporarily put files
for people in the ADF to use.
-
outgoing: Where ADF staffers can temporarily put
miscellaneous files for outside parties to read.
-
software: Where ADF staffers put source code and
executables of programs we think will be of use to ftp-ers.
-
solar: Where ADF staffers put solar irradiance
spectra that are currently recommended for use with AVIRIS. Developed
by Bo Cai Gao.
POLICIES:
All directories except incoming are protected against modification
by anonymous ftp-ers.
The incoming directory is for adding new files only. Do
not delete any existing files.
Both the incoming and outgoing directories
are TEMPORARY storage only! Files put in either directory are
automatically removed after three days. It is suggested that you
communicate with ADF staff when planning to use either directory to
ensure that the data is provided/received in time.
